Bonnie Claudia Harrison

Bonnie Claudia HarrisonBonnie Claudia Harrison is the director of the Englewood Mapping Project, an online database documenting the lives and stories of early African Americans in Englewood from 1850-1920, when the neighborhood was predominantly inhabited by European immigrants.

Dr. Harrison holds a B.F.A. from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago, an M.A. and Ph.D. in Anthropology from the University of Texas Austin. From 2009-2010, she conducted post-doctoral research on Black Englewood with the Black Metropolis Research Consortium at the University of Chicago. She is currently the mother of a toddler and the co-Chair of the Social Science Department at Kennedy-King College, one of the City Colleges of Chicago.
